National Center for PTSD

The National Center for PTSD is joint program of the United States Department of Defense and the Department of Veteran's affairs. It has a lot of great information about PTSD and its treatment, even if your trauma isn't related to military service.

Make the Connection

Make the Connection is another product of the U.S. Department of Veteran's Affairs. It has a number of videos and other media to give you an understanding of PTSD from people who have experienced both PTSD and PTSD treatment.

National Alliance of the Mentally Ill

NAMI is an advocacy group for people with all kinds of mental health problems. They have a very helpful page about PTSD, treatment options, and self-care.

Helping Children and Adolescents

This site by the National Institute for mental health give good information about how to help a child or adolescent who has had a traumatic experience.
